Electric dirt bikes in San Jose — Sur-Ron & Talaria dealer

We are based in San Jose and we hold stock here. That means you can sit on the machine before you buy it, collect it set up and ready rather than in a crate, and speak to someone who has actually ridden the bike you are asking about — at Metcalf, Hollister or Carnegie.

Where to ride near San Jose

This is the question every local buyer asks second, and the honest answer shapes which bike you should buy. All of these require green sticker registration and a compliant helmet.

  • Metcalf Motorcycle Park

San Jose — roughly 20 minutes from us

The closest legal riding to the city. Hillclimbs and a motocross track; a natural first outing on a new bike.

  • Hollister Hills SVRA

Hollister — about an hour south

The Bay Area default. A large trail network with terrain for every level, and the best place to spend a full day on an Ultra Bee or Komodo.

  • Carnegie SVRA

Livermore — about an hour north-east

Steeper and more technical. Rewards a lighter machine like the Light Bee X or X3 more than a big one.

  • Prairie City SVRA

    Rancho Cordova — Sacramento area

Worth the drive for a weekend. Groomed tracks alongside open riding.

Not on this list: San Jose streets, sidewalks, bike paths and park trails. Riding there is what has driven the tightening regulation across California, and it is how bikes get impounded.

California law, stated plainly

SB 586 gets misrepresented constantly by sellers who benefit from the confusion. It created an "eMoto" classification effective 1 January 2026 — it did not legalise these machines for road use, and it did not remove the OHV registration requirement.

We would sell more bikes if we told you otherwise. We would also be lying, and you would find out at the roadside.

Parts and service

We stock genuine parts for every model we sell, organised by system the way a workshop manual is, with fitment recorded per model rather than assumed.

Not sure which bike?

Seat height and weight decide this more often than power does. The Talaria X3 MX at 31.9 in and 121 lb is the most forgiving full-size machine we sell; the Sur-Ron Ultra Bee at 35.8 in and 187 lb needs a taller, more confident rider. If you are choosing between the two brands, start with our Sur-Ron vs Talaria comparison.

Frequently asked questions

Where can I buy a Sur-Ron in San Jose?
From us. We are an authorized Sur-Ron and Talaria dealer based in San Jose, holding stock locally rather than drop-shipping from a container. You can collect in person or we can ship anywhere in the US.
Can I ride a Sur-Ron or Talaria on the street in San Jose?
No. These are electric off-road motorcycles and they are not street legal in stock form. You cannot legally ride them on San Jose roads, sidewalks or bike paths. They are for private property with permission and for designated OHV areas — Metcalf Motorcycle Park is the closest.
Where can I ride an electric dirt bike near San Jose?
Metcalf Motorcycle Park is closest, around 20 minutes out. Hollister Hills SVRA is about an hour south and is the best full-day option in the Bay Area. Carnegie SVRA near Livermore is more technical. All require green sticker registration and a compliant helmet.
Do I need to register my electric dirt bike in California?
To ride in a designated OHV area, yes — you need DMV off-highway (green sticker) registration. On private property with the owner's permission, no registration is required. SB 586 created an "eMoto" classification effective 1 January 2026 but it does not make these machines street legal.
Can I see and sit on a bike before buying?
Yes, and for seat height it is worth doing. Our range runs from 26.9 in on the Hyper Bee to 37 in on the Storm Bee, and the difference decides which machine suits you far more often than power does. Contact us to arrange a visit in San Jose.
Do you service Sur-Ron and Talaria bikes locally?
We stock genuine parts for every model we sell and support the machines we supply. Fitment is recorded per model in our parts catalogue rather than guessed, which matters on Talaria in particular where parts are more model-specific.
