Talaria ET01
Talaria JR-12 for sale
A 45 cm seat and two speed modes. A child’s first electric bike.
The JR-12 is the smallest machine Talaria builds, intended for riders roughly 4 to 6 years old. Two ride modes let a parent cap the bike at 6 mph while a child finds their balance, then release it to 10 mph. The seat adjusts between 45 and 52 cm, which is genuinely small — most "kids" electric bikes are not.
- Seat adjusts 45–52 cm (17.7–20.5 in)
- 24 lb — light enough for a child to pick up
- Two ride modes — parent-selectable 6 mph or 10 mph
- Suited to riders roughly 4–6 years old
- Adult supervision required at all times
Talaria JR-12 top speed, range and power
The Talaria JR-12 top speed is 10 mph, and it will cover up to 9 miles on a charge, from a 0.36 kW peak motor rated at 0.18 kW continuous . It weighs 24 lb with a 17.7 in seat.
Peak output is a burst figure — on a long climb or in deep sand you are riding the 0.18 kW continuous rating, which is the honest number to compare between machines. The pack is fixed, so the bike charges where it is parked.

What size rider does the Talaria JR-12 fit?
The Talaria JR-12 has a 17.7 in seat and suits riders of about 3 ft 0 in – 3 ft 9 in (91–114 cm).
- Rider height
- 3 ft 0 in – 3 ft 9 in (91–114 cm)
- Inseam
- about 18 in or more, so both feet reach the ground flat at a stop
- Indicative age
- roughly 3 to 6, though height matters far more than age
- Seat height
- 17.7 in
- Weight
- 24 lb
Fit the rider, not the birthday — height and inseam decide this, and age is only a rough guide. If they cannot hold the bike up unaided at a standstill, it is too big, whatever the age range says.
Who the Talaria JR-12 is for
A good fit if you are
- A child's genuine first powered bike, at a 17.7 in seat
- Riders around 3 ft 0 in to 3 ft 9 in tall
- Parents who want a speed-limited machine with a low mode to start in
- Back gardens, paddocks and private land — it is 24 lb, so an adult can carry it back
Look elsewhere if
- Any child who cannot comfortably touch the ground with both feet
- Riders who have outgrown 10 mph, who want the JR-16
- Anywhere public — it is not a toy, and it is not road legal
- Unsupervised riding, at any age
What it is like to ride
Sizing is the whole decision here and it is simpler than it looks: sit the child on the bike. If both feet plant flat on the ground and they can hold it upright unaided, it fits. If they are on tiptoes, it does not — wait, because a child who cannot hold the bike up will drop it, get frightened, and lose a year of enthusiasm. Two speed modes let you start at walking pace and open it up only when they have the balance for it. At 24 lb you can pick it up one-handed when they inevitably park it in a hedge.
Talaria JR-12 price
The Talaria JR-12 is $1,015 . That is firm US retail, benchmarked against live US dealer listings — freight is quoted separately against your destination.
The cheapest way into the category, and the only machine here a three-year-old can use. It is a first bike, not a small version of a big one.

Parts for this bike
We do not yet hold parts specific to the Talaria JR-12. Our OEM lines cover the Light Bee and Talaria platforms, and we will not list a component as fitting this machine on the strength of a shared dimension — that is how people end up returning things. 49 consumables and tools in our catalogue carry no fitment because none applies, and those work on it.
Common questions
- What is the Talaria JR-12 top speed?
- The Talaria JR-12 has a top speed of 10 mph, from a 0.36 kW peak motor rated at 0.18 kW continuous. Expect less into a headwind, uphill, on soft ground or with a heavier rider — that is true of every machine in this class.
- How much does the Talaria JR-12 cost?
- The Talaria JR-12 is $1,015. That is our firm US retail price, checked against live US dealer listings — not an indicative figure or an MSRP we hope to hit.
- How far will the Talaria JR-12 go on a charge?
- Up to 9 miles from its 22V 5Ah pack, depending on terrain, rider weight and ride mode. The battery is fixed, so the bike has to go where the charger is — worth knowing if you live in an apartment or park outdoors. A full charge takes about 2.5 hours.
- What is the seat height of the Talaria JR-12?
- 17.7 inches, and the bike weighs 24 lb. Seat height decides suitability more often than power does, so if you are between models it is the number to compare first.
- What size rider does the Talaria JR-12 fit?
- The Talaria JR-12 has a 17.7 in seat and suits riders of about 3 ft 0 in – 3 ft 9 in (91–114 cm). As a guide that is roughly 3 to 6, though height matters far more than age, but fit the rider rather than the birthday — you want an inseam of about 18 in or more, so both feet reach the ground flat at a stop. If they cannot hold the bike up unaided at a standstill it is too big, whatever the age range says.
- Is the Talaria JR-12 street legal?
- No. This is a high-powered electric off-road motorcycle and is not street legal in most US jurisdictions in stock form. It is intended for private land and designated OHV riding areas. California SB 586 created an "eMoto" classification effective 1 January 2026 — it classifies these machines, it does not make them street legal.
- Talaria JR-12 or Sur-Ron Hyper Bee?
- The Talaria JR-12 is 0.36 kW and 10 mph at 24 lb, on a 17.7 in seat. The Sur-Ron Hyper Bee is 8 kW and 40 mph at 86 lb, on a 26.9 in seat. Weight and seat height usually decide this, not power — we compare them side by side if you want the detail.
