Find your fit
What size electric dirt bike do I need?
Seat height decides this more often than power does. Our range runs from 17.7 in on the Talaria JR-12 to 37 in on the Sur-Ron Storm Bee — over ten inches of spread — and buying the wrong end of that is the most common mistake we see. Tell us your height and we will tell you which machines actually fit.

How to measure, and what the number means
- Measure inseam, not height. Two riders of the same height can be two inches apart at the inseam, which is the difference between flat feet and tiptoes.
- Measure in riding boots. They add roughly an inch over trainers — enough to move you between machines.
- Balls of both feet down is the bar. You do not need to flat-foot a dirt bike, but you do need to hold it up unaided on uneven ground.
- Weight matters nearly as much. A tall bike you can hold up is fine; a heavy one you cannot pick up after a fall is a problem. The range spans 24 lb to 280 lb.
- Buying for a child? Fit the rider, not the birthday. See the junior range, sized by height and inseam.
Common questions
- What size electric dirt bike do I need?
- Compare your inseam to the seat height, not your overall height. Our range runs from 17.7 in on the Talaria JR-12 to 37 in on the Sur-Ron Storm Bee. If you can get the balls of both feet down at a standstill and hold the bike up unaided, it fits. If you are on tiptoes, it does not.
- How tall do you need to be for a Sur-Ron?
- It depends entirely on the model. The Hyper Bee sits at 26.9 in and suits riders from about 4 ft 6 in; the Light Bee X at 32.7 in suits roughly 5 ft 7 in and up; the Ultra Bee at 35.8 in and the Storm Bee at 37 in are full-size machines that need 5 ft 9 in or more. Anyone quoting one height for "a Sur-Ron" has not looked at the range.
- What is a good seat height for a beginner?
- One you can flat-foot. A newer rider stops more often, stops in worse places, and needs to put a foot down without thinking about it. Buying a machine you are on tiptoes on is the most common sizing mistake we see, and it is why people end up riding less.
- How do I measure my inseam for a dirt bike?
- Stand against a wall in the boots you will ride in, feet slightly apart, and measure from the floor to your crotch. Riding boots add roughly an inch over trainers, which is enough to change which machine suits you.
- Does seat height matter more than power?
- For most buyers, yes. Power you grow into; a bike you cannot hold up at a standstill stays in the garage. Fit first, then match output to your experience and terrain.
