Talaria throttles, grips & cables

Most people searching for a Talaria throttle are not shopping — they are diagnosing. So this page starts with what actually goes wrong, and what it costs to fix, before it tries to sell you anything.

Throttle not working? Check these in order

  1. The connector. Vibration loosens it and moisture corrodes it. Unplug, inspect for green or grey residue on the pins, reseat firmly. This is the fix more often than any other, and it is free.
  2. The loom, especially after a fall. Follow the cable from the bar to where it disappears into the frame, looking for pinch points, chafe and stretched sections at the steering stop.
  3. The dash fault code. If the display is showing one, it will narrow this down faster than any amount of poking. See our error code tables.
  4. The throttle body itself. The Hall sensor inside is the wear item. If the connector is clean and the loom is sound, this is usually the answer.
  5. The controller. Cutting out under load, or behaviour that changes with ride mode, is a controller or battery symptom rather than a throttle one — do not replace the throttle chasing it.

Talaria throttles we stock

A short list, and deliberately so — we list what we actually hold rather than padding it with parts we would have to source blind. If you need something not shown, ask us with your model and year.

Fitment: check before you order

Throttle fitment depends on the controller and connector as much as the bar, and it varies across the range and between model years. These are the Talaria models we support:

Talaria throttle questions

Why has my Talaria throttle stopped working?
In order of how often we see it: a connector that has vibrated loose or corroded, a damaged throttle cable or loom after a fall, a failed Hall sensor inside the throttle body, or a controller fault the throttle is being blamed for. Check the connector first — it is free, and it is the answer more often than not.
How do I know if it is the throttle or the controller?
A throttle that is dead at every position usually points at a connector or the throttle itself. A bike that cuts out under load, or behaves differently in different ride modes, usually points at the controller or the battery. If the dash shows a fault code, start there — the error code tables in our manuals section are the fastest route to a diagnosis.
What is a regen throttle?
A throttle that also commands regenerative braking, letting the motor slow the bike and return some charge when you roll off. It changes how the machine feels on descents more than it meaningfully extends range. Fitment depends on the controller as much as the handlebar, so check compatibility before ordering.
Twist or thumb throttle?
Twist is what these machines ship with and what most riders prefer on the road or fast trail. Thumb throttles are popular for technical riding, because holding a twist grip open while being bounced around is harder to do smoothly. It is a genuine preference rather than an upgrade — try one before committing if you can.
Will any throttle fit my Talaria?
No. Throttle fitment depends on the controller and connector as much as the bar diameter, and it varies across the Talaria range and between model years. Send us your model and year and we will confirm before you order rather than guessing — that is what the fitment checker is for.
Does changing the throttle void the warranty?
A genuine replacement throttle does not. Aftermarket throttles paired with aftermarket controllers generally do void factory drivetrain warranty, because the pair changes how much current the motor sees. If warranty matters to you, stay with genuine parts.
