Talaria parts
Talaria batteries, chargers & pack hardware
The pack is the most expensive component on any electric dirt bike, and the one most often bought wrong. Voltage is not interchangeable between models — start by confirming what your machine actually runs.
Which battery fits which Talaria?
| Model | Voltage | Capacity | Energy | Removable | Range |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Talaria JR-12 | 22V | 5Ah | ~0.1 kWh | No | 9 mi |
| Talaria JR-16 | 24V | 10Ah | ~0.2 kWh | No | 16 mi |
| Talaria Sting R MX4 | 60V | 45Ah | ~2.7 kWh | Yes | 62 mi |
| Talaria Sting MX3 | 60V | 38.4Ah | ~2.3 kWh | Yes | 43 mi |
| Talaria X3 Pro | 60V | 40Ah | ~2.4 kWh | No | 50 mi |
| Talaria X3 MX | 60V | 40Ah | ~2.4 kWh | No | 62 mi |
| Talaria X3 Mini | 60V | 25Ah | ~1.5 kWh | No | 31 mi |
| Talaria Sting MX5 Pro | 72V | 40Ah | ~2.9 kWh | Yes | 52 mi |
| Talaria Komodo | 97.2V | 45Ah | ~4.4 kWh | No | 71 mi |
Energy is voltage × capacity, and it is the honest way to compare packs — a 72V 35Ah pack holds less than a 60V 45Ah one despite the bigger number on the label.
60V vs 72V: what actually changes
People search "Talaria xXx battery upgrade" and "Talaria XXX 72V battery" looking for a straight swap. It is not one — read on before you buy.
Higher voltage lets the controller deliver the same power at lower current, which usually means less heat and a stronger top end. That is the whole of the benefit, and it is real.
What it is not is a bolt-in upgrade. The controller, wiring and motor all have to be specified for the voltage they are fed. Fitting a higher-voltage pack to a bike built around a lower one is a drivetrain modification with thermal consequences, not a battery swap — and it ends your warranty. If you want more voltage, the reliable route is buying a machine that shipped with it.

Making a pack last
- Store at about half charge. A pack left at 100% in a hot garage degrades faster than one that gets ridden.
- Charge before you ride, not after. Topping to full and leaving it there for a fortnight is the most common way owners shorten pack life.
- Let it cool first. Charging a hot pack straight after a hard session is hard on cells.
- Keep it out of extremes. Lithium loses capacity in the cold temporarily, and in the heat permanently.
- Buying used? The pack is the whole risk. Its condition is not visible. Ask for cycle count and charging history, and ride the bike before you buy.
Talaria battery questions
- What battery does a Talaria use?
- It depends entirely on the model. Across the Talaria range we sell, packs run 22V, 24V, 60V, 72V, 97.2V. Voltage is not interchangeable — a pack from one model will not simply drop into another, and matching the controller matters as much as matching the mounts. Check your model before ordering.
- What is the difference between a 60V and a 72V battery?
- Higher voltage lets the controller deliver the same power at lower current, which generally means less heat and a stronger top end. It is not a free upgrade: the controller, wiring and motor all have to be specified for it, so fitting a higher-voltage pack to a bike built around a lower one is a drivetrain modification, not a battery swap. It will also end your warranty.
- Which Talaria models have a removable battery?
- Talaria Sting R MX4, Talaria Sting MX3, Talaria Sting MX5 Pro have a removable pack — you can carry it indoors to charge, store it at sensible temperature over winter, and run a second one for a double ride day. Talaria JR-12 and Talaria JR-16 and Talaria X3 Pro and Talaria X3 MX and Talaria X3 Mini and Talaria Komodo have fixed packs, so the bike has to go where the charger is.
- How long does an electric dirt bike battery last?
- Cycle life is driven far more by how a pack is treated than by how many miles it covers. Storing at 100% charge in a hot garage degrades a battery faster than riding it does. Charge to full when you are about to ride, store at roughly half charge, keep it out of freezing and baking temperatures, and let it cool before charging after a hard session.
- Can I fit a bigger battery to get more range?
- Sometimes, but check three things before you spend: physical fit in the battery box, connector and BMS compatibility, and whether the controller can handle the pack. A larger-capacity pack at the same voltage is usually the safe upgrade. A higher-voltage pack usually is not. If you are unsure, ask us with your model and year rather than guessing.
- How much is a replacement Talaria battery?
- Complete packs we stock run from $215.41. A pack is the single most expensive component on the bike, which is why battery condition is the whole risk when buying used.
